Dear Mare,
We haven’t met yet, but I sincerely hope this will change somewhere in the near future.
Since I have a rather troublesome relationship with the postal services (as well as with my hairdresser for that matter, but that is besides the issue here), I had dropped of my manuscript at your reception desk on the 1st of June. For your attention, it clearlysaid on the envelope. So how my manuscript could get ´lost´, as your colleague told me over the phone, is a mystery to me. But that’s okay, I like a good mystery, they’re after all part of, well, of what indeed?
So anyway, today I made the trip to your reception desk again, and handed in my manuscript for your attention once more. I hope you’ll at least be able to receive it this time, and register my manuscript. I really want to be published by your publishing house, but being registered seems like an acceptable achievement right now.
With kind regards,
P

Dear Mare Meyknecht,
My name is Z, I’m 48 years old, and have always been very interested in history. Furthermore, and possibly because of my Catholic upbringing which later in life lead to a more sober outlook on humanity and its future, I’ve always wondered about the motives that drive an individual. In my humble opinion, the answers presented by the Church are way too simplified and outdated. On the other hand, science seems to take its time to come with an alternative, so I took it upon myself to look for the truth behind it all myself.
I first focussed on Hitler. I figured that if I would be able to grasp his logic, I would learn more about human kind. I think I succeeded in this, but as will all answers: it raised more questions, and so next I focussed on Stalin. I found the truth both sobering and not very hopeful, because if would mean that real peace for humanity is still a long way off.
If you are interested in my manuscript then I’d be happy to send it to you.
If not, too bad .
Awaiting your reply,
Kind regards,
Z
